i saw the crazy lady

By Donna Kuhn

i saw the crazy lady talking
to herself today on the n judah
to market street

walking into the arboretum
in the park she had
spaghetti sauce on
her chin i took
it for blood

she was chewing
chocolate or something

on crowded cable cars
in the rain everybody
poking each others eyes
out with umbrellas

night turns into something
else completely exciting
kind of lost
