Blue Eyes

By Camincha

I've seen them turn gray when you said
of your ex: a good woman
                      a good woman.

I've seen them turn green‹as I know they
can‹with laughter when I told you:
I'm just making it all up!

You mean there is no chicken?

No. No chicken for supper, I laughed.
I just made it up so I'll have a
reason to call you, to hear your voice,
to hear you laugh.

I've seen them turn sapphire in the semi
darkness of my bedroom as your mouth
came down and lighted on my left nipple.
